Moses’ Bath
Thousands of years ago, the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his people passed through this place, fleeing from Pharaoh and his army. This spot remains a testament to one of the miracles of the Prophet Moses, when springs of water gushed forth at the foot of Mount Moses’ Bath. Therefore, this place is considered sacred and historical, as it is where Moses and his people lived, and where he prayed that the water would bring healing and peace to those who visit this holy place.
Moses’ Bath in Tor Sinai:
Located about three kilometers north of Tor Sinai, the bath’s waters flow from five springs into a basin-shaped pool surrounded by a rubble-stone structure. These hot, sulfurous waters (37 degrees Celsius) are used to treat various rheumatic, skin, and bone diseases. Glory be to God! The water springs from the heart of the mountain.
These springs of Moses’ Bath are mentioned in the Holy Quran:
“And when Moses prayed for water for his people, We said, ‘Strike the rock with your staff,’ and there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Each tribe knew its drinking place. Eat and drink from the provision of God, and do not…” They spread corruption and destruction throughout the land.
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
