Pharaoh’s Bath
These are natural sulfur springs in Egypt, located in the city of Abu Zenima, South Sinai Governorate, south of Ras Sudr. They are 110 kilometers from El Tor and 250 kilometers from Cairo. The site comprises 15 springs from which hot water flows from a cave in the mountain near the shore, forming a pool with a flow rate of approximately 3,000 cubic meters per day. The pool extends 100 meters along the beach, adjacent to the sea. The water temperature reaches 92 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest of the 1,450 hot springs, wells, and other natural hot springs in Egypt. The Springs:
These are a group of 15 springs from which hot water flows from a cave in the mountain near the shore, forming a pool with a flow rate of approximately 3,000 cubic meters per day. The pool extends 100 meters along the beach, adjacent to the sea. The water temperature reaches 92 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest among the 1,450 hot springs, wells, and other hot springs in Egypt.
The water flowing from these springs has been chemically and bacteriologically analyzed. The results have confirmed its suitability and high efficacy in treating many diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, various types of rheumatism, digestive system disorders, kidney diseases, lung allergies, liver diseases, and skin diseases, in addition to its benefits for cosmetic purposes. Chemical analyses have also shown that the water contains high concentrations of sulfur, exceeding the levels found in other mineral waters worldwide.
Above Pharaoh’s Springs is a rock-carved cave, used by visitors and tourists as a natural sauna due to the heat emanating from the hot sulfurous waters rising from the cave’s base to its top.
Health Resort:
The area’s year-round mild climate, dry air, and vast expanses of warm sand suitable for natural therapy, surrounded by a mountain range, make it an ideal location for a health resort called “Pharaoh’s Baths Resort.” This resort, the first and only one of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East, is still under construction and will be a tourist village and ecotherapy center combining therapeutic, recreational, and sports tourism.
Sulfurous Waters: These hot springs are a significant destination for treatment and recovery for many people, both the sick and the healthy, due to their numerous benefits.
Sulfurous waters are characterized by their soothing, pain-relieving, and anti-inflammatory effects. This is attributed to the water’s mineral content and the increased heat, which is due to hydrogen sulfide, a phenomenon clearly visible in the reddening of the skin and face. Physiological Effects:
– Vasodilation.
– Increased heart rate.
– Increased metabolic rate.
– Muscle relaxation.
– Increased elasticity of connective tissues.
– Activation of the collagen layer.
– Firming and tightening of sagging skin.
– Increased cortisol secretion.
Diseases Treated with Sulfur Water:
Joint, bone, and muscle diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, chronic gout, fibrositis, chronic osteoarthritis, Bekhterev’s disease).
– Spinal pain and herniated discs.
– Skin diseases (psoriasis, scabies, tinea, eczema, neurodermatitis, acne).
– Respiratory diseases (sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis).
Some urinary tract infections and stomach ailments.
Methods of Treatment with Sulfur Water:
There are three methods of treatment:
– Drinking.
– Inhalation. – Immersion: This is the method used in Pharaoh’s sulfur baths.
